P1 - Proposal Unit 3 Magazine
|
Format: Magazine
I
am going to produce a new Football
magazine about modern day unprofessional football in the form of a Front Cover
and DPS (Double Page Spread)
|
|
Purpose: This
magazine will be aim to inform and educate and entertain because I plan to
include informative articles and football match reviews. Modern day football
is a widely talked about subject amongst football fans, therefore this
magazine will provide information and some entertainment all about it.
|
|
Genre:
This magazine’s genre will be sports. I plan to produce this
magazine based on football and several football elements such as locations of
the football games and the professional levels of games.
|
|
Content:
My
magazine will include pictures, information, analysis, interviews and match
reviews. The magazine’s body copy will include some information about the
English Premier League, as this will make the magazine more popular due to
the popularity of the league. I will also include some analysis and details
of 5-a-side football including a debate on how the Football Association are
dealing with upcoming talents. In an article, I will intend to persuade
readers to participate in 5-a-side football by including a match analysis of
an important 5-a-side league game at my local football centre.
|
|
Style or Approach:
The
house style will include bold and vibrant colours and fonts as they have a
greater impact when inserted onto a dark background. I plan to use the colour
pink throughout the magazine as it is a colour of the official Premier
League’s colour scheme and it is a bright colour, which stands out very
clearly. To create these pages, I am going to use Adobe Photoshop to
construct the magazines front cover and double page spread as it is a
reliable go-to software for designing things such as magazine covers.
Photoshop has tools that will be beneficial in constructing the magazine
cover as it has the ability to cut out the background of images of
Footballers so the image is just the player itself.
|
|
Audience:
|
|
Length:
The
magazine will be size A4 as this size is not too big so it is handy to carry
around. It will contain 4 pages including the front and back cover
|
|
Frequency:
There
will be weekly editions and a monthly edition at the end of each month. The
weekly editions there will be analysis of the past weekend’s games in the
Premier League whereas the monthly edition will contain a review of the
months Premier League games and all competitions such as player of the month
and goal of the month from all the football games that took place that month.
Each weeks magazine will cost £1.99 whereas the monthly editions will cost
£3.99

Possible photo ideas for the magazine:
Large long scenic shot:
For this shot, I plan to use a wide angled lens by using
a tripod to create a clear landscape photo of a football pitch with players
playing on it. A possible location for this would be my local football centre,
which has 5/7 aside games daily. This would also have a large appeal to the
Liverpool based audience, as this location is local to the target audience. It
will also appeal to those who play 5/7 aside football but are not local.
Long exposure shot – An image of a footballer stepping up
for a penalty, silhouetted by light with a background of darkness would be effective,
as the dark background would help highlight the penalty taker. This also means
the text around the image would stand out if I used light colours.
